We ship fresh frozen ʻawa root, which means the parcel has to move fast and stay cold. Here is exactly how that works.
When we ship
Orders leave the farm on Mondays and Tuesdays only. Frozen root cannot sit in a depot over a weekend, so we only hand parcels to the carrier early enough in the week to arrive before one. An order placed on a Wednesday ships the following Monday.
Everything is harvested to order, so allow a few days between your order and its despatch. We will email you when it is on its way.
Where we ship
- We ship within the United States only, including Alaska and Hawaiʻi.
- We cannot ship to PO boxes. Frozen freight needs a street address someone can sign for.
How it arrives
Parcels go out frozen, packed cold, by FedEx. Shipping is calculated at checkout from the weight of your order and where it is going.
Please plan to be there. Get the box into a freezer as soon as it arrives. Once a parcel has been delivered successfully we cannot be responsible for root that thaws on a doorstep.
If something is wrong
ʻAwa is perishable, so we cannot take back product that has been opened or thawed. What we will always do is put right anything we got wrong.
If your order arrives damaged, thawed on arrival, or is not what you ordered, email info@puiwafarms.com within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and photographs. We will replace it or refund it, whichever you would rather.
If a delivery fails because the address was wrong, or because nobody was able to receive it, we cannot refund the product or the shipping.
Which cultivars you get
We harvest whatever is mature and ready that week, so cultivars cannot be requested. Every bag is labelled with the cultivar inside it, and on a larger order we aim to send around five different ones so you have a range to taste.
